QUERYTEND / KEYWORD MONITORING

Keyword monitoring for informed content decisions

A position is a starting point. Connect it to a page and a justified next step.

Keep three sources distinct

GSC describes observed search performance for an authorized site. An external SERP query samples positions for a specific country and device. Keyword discovery surfaces candidate needs. These are not one universal real-time ranking.

Improve a page or create one?

  1. Check that the need fits the product rather than pursuing unrelated traffic.
  2. Find existing pages addressing the same intent and consider improving their coverage.
  3. Create a page only when a distinct intent and real business capability justify it.
  4. Investigate demand, seasonality, competitors and query mix before blaming content for a decline.

Newly discovered is not necessarily trending

A query first observed on your site may simply be newly visible to you. Demand growth requires time-series evidence. Low volumes or missing connections should lead to qualified conclusions.
