First, confirm the live page changed
A successful save is not a published page. Check the real URL, redirects, HTTP status and expected title, text or link. Confirm canonical and robots settings did not change unexpectedly.
Record scope and timing
Track affected pages, edits, actual publication time and concurrent releases. An external tool reporting completion is a record, not a substitute for a live-page check.
Wait for comparable search data
Use consistent dimensions and complete windows to observe clicks, impressions and query mix. Small samples, simultaneous changes and shifting demand limit conclusions. A page check cannot guarantee Google recrawling or displaying your exact title.
A more accurate conclusion
“The expected link is live. Clicks changed afterward, but other edits happened at the same time, so we cannot attribute the movement to this link.” This is more useful than promising traffic growth from a successful fix.
